This course is aimed at the people in school with responsibility for data mapping. The objective of the course it to learn how to produce the ‘Record of Processing Activities’ required by the ICO. Delegates will learn a process for collecting and recording the information required to produce the data map.
There are some key pieces of information you need to complete the mapping process. These relate to retention periods, the legal basis of processing and the reasons for processing personal data in a school. We will be using our Sentry system for parts of the training as it has these elements built in. You can, of course, maintain your mapping in any form you choose.
We’ll look at some practical examples after showing you the mapping method. Many schools have found it useful to begin to map their own data at this point.
