GDPR Data Protection Impact Assessment Training

A data protection impact assessment (DPIA) is probably the most complex task in data protection. The objective of this course is to develop a methodical approach to the analysis and risk assessment.

The course revolves around a ‘case study’ of a move to a new website. This is quite a simple scenario compared to some major IT infrastructure changes.

We’ll look at how the process produces a measure of residual risk. Your decisions about the viability of the project need to include this calculation of residual risk.

We focus on the essential tasks as a full DPIA can take several weeks to complete. You may be required to consult with the ICO, depending on the outcome of the assessment. We’ll cover what happens and what powers the ICO has over your project.

Your data protection officer (DPO) is a key player in a DPIA and should attend this training.
